Through its automotive and communications divisions, TCG International Inc (TCGI) has become a leading player in the global glass and wireless communication industries.
Quality, Service and Integrity have been the corporate watchwords since 1946,
when Arthur and Herbert Skidmore opened their first glass shop in New
Westminster, BC. The company expanded steadily over the years. In the 1980s,
Arthur’s sons, Allan and Thomas, expanded the company, entering the retail and
distribution of automotive glass market in the United States and Europe and
wireless communications in Canada. In the early 1990s, operations had
diversified significantly and moved into the global marketplace.
With the diversity in operations, Thomas directs the finance and investments of
the corporation and the operations of the communications division, Glentel Inc.
Allan directs the corporation’s glass and automotive aftermarket division. Formerly known as Trans Canada Glass, and now known as
TCG International Inc., the corporation has over 2,500 owned franchises
in 43 countries and 2,500 employees. Corporate headquarters are in
Burnaby, BC, Canada.
